Pedro Batista was born in 1980 in Lisbon, Portugal.
He grew up in Carcavelos, between the city and the sea—an area where the culture of skateboarding, surfing, and garage bands shaped his practice.
After graduating in Communication Design in Lisbon, Pedro Batista completed an artist residency program at the New York School of Visual Arts.
In 2010, Pedro moved to Berlin. Later, in 2015, he traveled to Medellín, Colombia, where he completed an art residency in Campos de Gutiérrez. In 2020, during the pandemic, he undertook an artistic residency at Villa Lena in Italy. Recently, in 2026, he took part in the ARCUS Project, an artist residency in Ibaraki, Japan.
He has participated in multiple solo and group exhibitions in Lisbon, Medellín, Málaga, Stockholm, New York, and Ibaraki (Japan). He currently lives and works in Lisbon.
